The ArmChair Journal

The ArmChair Journal had a template-based Wordpress site that published articles on Indian politics and current affairs. By this point, it had become despairingly slow, and their immediate ask was for a faster website. We moved them to our own hosting and made some quick optimizations to have it running acceptably. However, it was an old site with a huge amount of articles and data, and wasn't very well optimized for performance. We determined that a fresh site was the way forward, rather than managing an aging codebase.
Just a few months later, they decided they were ready for that fresh start. We decided to stick with WordPress, but move from a template and a (notoriously slow) page-builder to a custom design and theme. Petrikore worked with their designers and re-built the site from scratch.
Their new site is fast and performant. With all issues addressed, we moved to the final stage of development, the addition of new features: a discussion forum, user reviews, ratings, and a statistics section.
Today, The ArmChair Journal is a smooth running online publication. We are currently their webhost, and continue to maintain the site and keep it well-optimized.
